Kelly Johnson is currently a Senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She will graduate in May 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. She plans to attend graduate school to obtain a Masters degree in Information Technology. She works in the Journalism School at UNC as a Research Coordinator for course development. Kelly was born in Chapel Hill where both of her parents went to college. She grew up in Concord and attended Concord High School. Her family moved to High Point after she graduated high school. Kelly now lives in a condominium in Chapel Hill with two of her very best friends, Ashley Wilson and Sara Parsons.
Kelly's family is extremely important to her. Her parents, Sammy and Linda Johnson, are her role models, best friends, and source of strength. They have always supported and encouraged her. Kelly was raised in a Christian family and she has a very strong relationship with God. Her parents taught her to have faith in God, be herself, and love people.
Kelly's dad played football for UNC and then went on to play in the NFL. He played for the Minnesota Vikings, San Francisco 49ers, and Greenbay Packers during the 70's. He now owns three private athletic clubs in North Carolina and South Carolina. Kelly is very proud of her dad and lucky to have him as a father.
Kelly's mom has her Master's degree in nursing and is the Wellness Coordinator for the Sportscenter Triad Athletic Club in High Point, NC. Linda is truly an angel and has a heart of gold. Kelly is so thankful that she finds herself becoming more and more like her mom everyday.
Kelly is the middle child. She is very close to her two brothers, Sammy and Matt. They have always been incredibly loving and generous and are very protective of their sister. Sammy is 23 years old. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and now lives in High Point. Matt is a freshman at Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington.
Kelly has a small, 8 pound dog. Her name is Kassy and she is an absolute princess. Kassy was rescued from a landfill in High Point and is grateful to have a good home to say the least. Kelly spoils her rotten and she deserves it.
Here are some interestng facts about Kelly:
- She is a vegetarian and has not eaten meat in almost four years.
- She is athletic and enjoys working out, lifting weights, and doing aerobics.
- She plays the piano. She took lessons for eight years, beginning in Kindergarten.
- As a child, she took ballet, tap, jazz, and gymnastics. Gymnastics was her favorite.
- She ran track, played basketball, and was a cheerleader in high school.
- She is a feminist!
- In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with her wild and crazy friends.
- Shopping is her favorite activity.
- She writes poetry, but never lets anyone read it.
- She collected Unicorns as a child.
- She is an animal lover.
- Unfortunately, she is allergic to cats.
- She is also allergic to shellfish, but does not really like it anyways!
